Personalised and branded fundraising technology provider CharityCheckout has dropped its 5% platform fee on donations, resulting in reduced costs and millions of pounds in potential savings for clients. The move follows CharityCheckout’s research into market trends and a survey of 1,448 of its charity clients in June to identify how they felt about platform fees. The results revealed support for a range of fee models with the most popular being a voluntary contribution approach. In response, CharityCheckout is removing its 5% platform fee and instead asking donors if they wish to voluntarily contribute to the cost of the charities’ fundraising....

Posted by Chester Mojay-Sinclare on 18/12/17 11:43

Earlier this year, the House of Lords published their ‘Stronger charities for a stronger society’ report, in which they adopted my recommendation that small charities should have a simple website or social media page and should be actively seeking digital skills for their board. This advice was recently challenged by the Chief Executive of the Small Charities Coalition, who said: "What they are advising small charities to do is to get a website and get on social media, but that’s what we should have been advising small charities to do 10 years ago. "For me, digital is about embracing solutions...

UK Fundraising: Small charities still “missing out on online donations”

Posted by James Bainbridge on 09/11/15 15:24

Many small charities are still not accepting online donations via their own website, according to research by charity payment processing specialist Charity Checkout. Their survey of 5,214 charities over the past two years found that 71% do not accept online donations. Charity Checkout’s founder Chester Mojay-Sinclare says that the contrast between national charities and local ones has never been so stark.
